Hello all, my name is Vanessa Zeer and this is my second semester in the Instructional Technology graduate program I look forward in adapting new techniques and strategies in my classroom. I graduate from Wayne State University in 2013 and earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a major is Social Studies. I love being outdoors and take every opportunity I have to be outdoors, I especially love rollerblading, playing tennis and basketball. During my free time I also enjoy reading, scrap booking and cooking, I enjoy finding different recipes from Pintrest. My ethnicity is Chaldean and also speak it as a second language I also speak Arabic, at home I communicate with my family members by speaking Chaldean. I am currently a Pre-K 4 teacher at Our Lady of Refuge and have been here for two years now. I've always wanted to be a second grade teacher and never thought I'd be able to be a Pre-School teacher, but I sure have fell in love with teaching Pre-K my student surely make it so easy to fall in love with I wouldn't change it for the world!! I look forward in getting to know and meeting all my new classmates; I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years and Good Luck in the new semester!!
It's good to meet you Vanessa. I can feel the love you have for the preschoolers when I read this and just had to snicker. There is truly "someone for everyone". Although I love the smaller ones OUTSIDE of the classroom, I could HARDLY take them IN the classroom. I teach 6-12 and have felt at home since, my very first day with my students. Can't take this "itty bitties" tho. They were too much for me!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I can never imagine working with the older ones especially now a days, the little ones are so lovable. I look forward in collaborating with you have a wonderful New Year!!
DeleteHi Vanessa, looks that we have many things in common with the difference where we work. I have to give you props for being able to work with the little kids. I subbed once in an elementary schools but it also was my last time.
ReplyDeleteHi Mateusz, yes it looks like we have a lot in common, you have to give elementary another shot you will grow to love it. Hope you have a wonderful new semester Good Luck!!
DeleteHello Vanessa, I also majored in social studies and often wonder if I should have minored in early childhood ed. I love working with the little ones too. My youngest students are in kindergarten but I only see each kindergarten once per week. I just love their enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started I was very nervous but it ended up being amazing and am so happy with my decision. If you ever decided to make the switch you will not regret it, sometimes I go into work feeling sad and the second my students walk in it's an instant smile.
DeleteHello it's nice to meet you. I teach the little ones as well and I can definitely understand how you can fall in love with them. They make your day so entertaining and fun. I recently have begun trying new recipes so thanks for the idea of looking on Pintrest for some.
ReplyDeleteHello Almareka, let me first off start by saying I love your name so different and unique. The little ones are such a bundle of joy we are fortunate to be around them and mold their unique selfs. Pintrest is awesome for recipes you are going to love it :) enjoy.
DeleteI agree with the comments above. It definitely takes a special person to work with the little ones. I definitely prefer older! I'm sure you'll love the IT program, it was good to me and opened a lot of doors! Good luck this semester.
ReplyDeleteThank you, those kind words surely touch my heart. This is my second semester in the IT program and so far I sure have loved it, I had Dr. Siko last semester and he sure made my experience amazing I learn a lot from him. I look forward into all the new things I will continue to learn.
DeleteI'll third that (although I moved from high school to undergrad and graduate students, and I still have mixed feelings about the 'age group').
ReplyDeleteThank You!! Thats amazing that you have made such an jump in grade levels that you have taught. I feel like that would be so difficult to do and I would be so lost into where to even begin. Although, I am glad you made the switch to the graduate program because I've learned a lot from you last semester and already include the different strategies into my classroom.
